Swartz Creek Area Veterans

When you go home, tell them for us and say,
'For their tomorrow, we gave our today.'
-WWII U.S. Cemetery, Normandy, France

Phases one and two of the Veteran’s Memorial are complete! The Veteran’s Memorial Committee (a volunteer group dedicated toward the monuments inception and creation) is now working towards purchase of bronze statues to complete phase three.

The committee plans to sell paver bricks on-going for years, and we will periodically order the bricks and replace plain bricks with the engraved bricks as they come in.  Bricks will be placed in a 5 foot by 90 foot exit path. This will benefit those who wish to honor someone in the future.

The committee has already installed the first bronze statue of an army soldier. The navy statue is expected to be installed by November 1, 2008. Donation to this may be made at City Hall to the STATUE FUND.

See a preliminary concept plan by clicking here! Click here if you do not have Adobe® Reader® (necessary to view the plan). To make a donation to the Memorial Fund, please send a check to: The City of Swartz Creek. Indicate 'Veteran's Memorial Fund' on the memo line. Or you can have names of donors or loved ones engraved on the Memorial bricks by filling out this form.

If you have any questions or comments, please call the City Office at 810-635-4464. Also, meetings for the committee now take place on the third Wednsday of each month at 6:00pm at the VFW Hall located at 3131 S. Elms Road. We will keep you posted as progress is made on the design concept and site features.
