FINGERPRINTING: The Department provides court ordered fingerprints only. Applicant fingerprinting is now provided by State of Michigan approved vendors. Applicants requiring fingerprinting may call 1-866-226-2952 for an appointment or access the IIS web site at www.identix.com/iis.
BICYCLE REGISTRATION: Dozens of bicycles are recovered by the Department each year. Most of these bicycles are not registered and our officers have no way of determining ownership. Registering a bicycle with the department will aid law enforcement in getting these bicycles back to their rightful owners. Even if the bicycle is recovered by another Police Agency, ownership may be determined if the registration is still in tact on the bicycle. Registration is available at the Police Department during regular business hours. It is not necessary to bring the bicycle with you as long as you bring all the pertinent description information. In addition, registration creates a permanent record of description information about your bicycle.
REPORT COPIES: Copies of complaints and accident reports are available at our office during regular business hours. Fees vary. Please call for specific information.
CRIMINAL RECORD CHECK: The Department will provide local criminal record checks for local residents for the purpose of employment, occupancy, and military eligibility requirements. Citizens must provide a records check form from their employer, landlord, or military recruiter. Statewide record checks are available from the State of Michigan on the internet at www.ICHAT.gov. There is a $10.00 fee. Additional information is available from the Michigan State Police in Lansing at 517-322-1956.
